Lake Mapourika is a scenic gem on the wild West Coast, sitting in the warmer and drier section of the Franz Josef Glacier valley and makes up part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the mirror like water with a backdrop of the Southern Alps and Glaciers, you can even see as far as Mt Cook on a clear day! The far shoreline of the Lake is home to New Zealand's rarest kiwi bird - the Rowi. Our team have created a rainforest track here, accessible only by kayak or boat cruise. Navigate into quiet hidden creeks with an experienced local guide, and we provide free photographs with each tour so you can truly relax and enjoy the moment.
Fishing Charters run all year round, fishing for brown trout and wild salmon. The lake is home to an abundance of fish, and our local fishing expert Dale is here to help - no experience necessary. You can even enjoy a fresh BBQ on the boat.
