Do not fly drones in Glacier Country

This region is the busiest for helicopter operations in New Zealand so you’re nearly always within a no-drone zone. Additionally the surrounding land, houses and buildings are privately owned or public land managed by the Department of Conservation where approval must be sought many days beforehand and strict rules adhered to. Flying a drone outside the rules is not only potentially dangerous, it is likely to result in being reported to the Civil Aviation Authority or the NZ Police.
