Lake Tours
Lake Mapourika is nestled amongst Westland’s oldest untouched rainforest and makes up part of the Te Waihipounamu, UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the mirror like water on a kayak tour or scenic cruise with a backdrop of the Southern Alps and Glaciers, you can even see as far as Mt Cook on a clear day! The far shoreline of the Lake is home to New Zealand’s rarest kiwi bird – the Rowi. The Wilderness tours team have created a rainforest track here, accessible only by kayak or boat cruise.
Fishing Charters run all year round, fishing for brown trout and wild salmon. The lake is home to an abundance of fish and local fishing expert Dale is here to help – no experience necessary. You can even enjoy a fresh BBQ on the boat.
