The two mighty glaciers of Fox and Franz Josef, unsurpassed views of New Zealand's two highest mountains Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman and the lowland rainforest of Westland National Park and Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area.
New Zealand's Glacier Country is...
The coastal splendour and unique wildlife of Okarito, Gillespies Beach and Bruce Bay, the pristine lakes of Mapourika, Wahapo, Paringa and of course the world-famous mirror lake Lake Matheson.
This week we head up the Franz Josef Glacier Valley to do the morning valley checks. Then is it off to discover “kiwi mild” through to “I want a sweaty adrenalin rush... HOT!” at the Priya Indian Restaurant. We visit the new team at Skydive Franz and finally put our feet up at the Franz Josef Glacier Country Retreat for the evening.
