Fox Glacier & South
Fed by four alpine glaciers, Fox Glacier falls 2600 metres on its 13 kilometre journey towards the coast. Named after an early New Zealand Prime Minister, William Fox, the glacier is 300 metres deep and its terminal face is just 5 kilometres from the township.View Images from Fox Glacier & South Gallery
Franz Josef Glacier & North
Franz Josef Glacier extends 12 kilometres from its three feeder glaciers in the high snow fields of the Alps. Today the terminal face is a mere 19 kilometres from the sea and just 5 kilometres from the township.View Images from Franz Josef Glacier & North Gallery
Glacier Country Cup
Under the highest peaks of NZ an annual rugby match is played between the two mighty Glacier Country teams 'The Cunning Foxes' and the 'The Franz Eagles'. In this most sacred year of rugby the boys thought it would be the decent thing to do to invite another rugby loving team over to enjoy the exhilaration of playing on the New Zealand West Coast Glaciers.View Images from Glacier Country Cup Gallery
