Code Time Lodge Okarito

Accommodation at the Code Time Lodge B&B is provided in two intimate but generous sized self contained units each with their own private outdoor areas.  The units can be booked simultaneously and are able to interconnect through the private courtyard area.

The main Lodge is perched high above the wetlands with a large handmade Matai dining table and an outdoor bar over looking the entire seaside village & surrounding coastal wetlands.  Dining can be arranged for 1 to 30 guests on negotiation.

It features an outdoor bar with views of the Alps, perfect for that apres drink at the end of a day exploring the many walks or kayaking the lagoon in search of the ethereal Kotuku.

The main courtyard at the bottom of the stairs has a large Fire-pit along with an adobe style Pizza oven great for cooking on and warming the soul.

Your host Shane has built, designed & landscaped the entire property. With West Coast roots that date back to the mid 1800's he has tried to stay true to the natural beauty & sustainability of the area.

The majority of the native timber has been sourced from a boutique sawmill in Little Wanganui, Karamea, where co-incidentally his Great Grandfather used to own the Hotel in the mid to late 1800's.

This property has been in the family since 1978, a sentimental purchase that remained vacant beside the fabulous Okarito wetlands until 2006 when Shane began to handcraft it into the beautiful property it is today.

Okarito is a tranquil nature lovers haven, perfect for restoration of the soul.
